The Art of Curating

Most of them just need a better curator.
When I sit down to curate a wardrobe, I don’t start by asking what to throw away. I start by asking what I actually keep.
There’s a difference between a piece you love and a piece you keep out of guilt: the cost, the gift someone gave you, a compliment you got once, the version of yourself you thought you’d become. None of that is a reason to keep something.
“A well-curated closet isn’t smaller for the sake of being small. It’s not full of brands, and it’s not full of brand-new clothes with tags. It’s smaller, more versatile, and real, because everything in it earns its place.”
Start with one drawer, or one shelf. Take everything out. Sort it into three honest piles: love and wear, maybe, and no longer you. Be ruthless with the middle pile, it’s where most of the clutter hides. What’s left isn’t a smaller wardrobe. It’s a true one, full of your essentials and your signature, authentic style, not a fantasy you.
